![]() ![]() If you use any Baked On Colors the whole plane will be very shiny. The new RF-8 FBX importer doesn't work with Baked On Colors so you need to map all the parts and use the CS texture map to paint it. ![]() The only method used now is FBX so you model your project and export it using FBX from 3ds Max and then import that directly into RF-8. I'm one of the modelers and I use 3ds Max 2015 here's my understanding of the new export / import method for RF-8. ![]() Can I now create objects in 3D Studio Max 2017/2018, and export as Kex objects from there ? Are there now exporters for any other programs such as Maya or C4D ? Is there any reason why I couldn't create objects in Maya or C4D, import them to 3DStudio, and then export them as Kex for RF ? Are there any other modeling changes I should know about ? Can I export an object with a simple solid color, or do they need the mapped texture ? I would much rater create objects in 3D Studio Max than in Blender. I find Blender extremely difficult to use. I used to be extremely comfortable with Lightwave, but it has changed quite a bit since then. I am fairly comfortable with 3D Studio Max. Of these I am extremely comfortable with Maya, C4D and Softimage. Can RF now receive objects exported from the latest 3DStudio ? Why create something in Blender first ? I have/use Maya, C4D, Softimage, 3DStudio Max, Vue, Blender and Lightwave. What are the new import capabilities ? Previously we had to use the old 8 bit version of 3-DStudio 2012. Just now I tried to find some detailed information about the new import capabilities, but couldn't find it. People were talking about creating objects in Blender and then importing them into the latest 3DStudio Max, and finally exporting them for RF. In the forum I found talk about new import capabilities in RF 8. Can I make an object a simple solid color, or do I need a mapped texture. Basically I can't remember what the rule is for an object's color. I went to the forum to refresh my memory about how to import the objects. I was about to make some static objects to import into Real Flight 8. ![]()
